[Sca-cooks] Lamb vs. Fowl in recipes, was Re: Any favorite lamb recipes?

But even today, we have recipes that you can make with beef or chicken, which are are as  dis-similar as lamb and chicken. so maybe this was similar?

That's a huge stretch.  Lamb and chicken aren't similar at all.
