[Sca-cooks] Meat and potatoes

I would never criticize anyone for not wanting to try new foods. There's  
people like me who will eat boa and crocodile tail just to see what they 
taste  like, but there's others who have a near-Pavlovian reaction to familiar 
and  unfamiliar foods. Years ago, I think I got one of my sisters to taste 
one piece  of sushi, and she was done.
 
But there's a long list of ways to politely deflect food you don't want to  
eat. As I discovered when, with the best intentions in the world, I tried 
to  treat my French friends to some of my more creative attempts at cuisine.
