[Sca-cooks] Best Fusion Cuisine Mash-Up

When I introduce the concept of fusion cuisine to culinary students, I
generally bring in a big box of various cookbooks from different ethnic and
specific dietary cuisines (Hawaiian, Jewish, Hungarian, Vegetarian, Greek,
Middle Eastern, French, German, Pennsylvania Dutch, New Orleans, Medieval,
African, etc. etc. etc.) I tell them that they are planning a wedding, and
have to pick two different styles, one each to represent the bride and the
groom. I tell them to pick out 6 dishes for appetizers, entrees, salads,
desserts or beverages. I encourage them to create combination or 'fusion'
dishes. If they pick out 3 from one book and 3 from another and slap
together a list of 6, I tell them they have both sets of in-laws lined up
against opposing walls, and no one is talking to one another at this
wedding! Sometimes, they come up with brilliant dishes like Southern
Coleslaw Eggrolls or Hawaiian Gyros!

So for our first bit of silliness, I propose a contest for the best (or
worst) fusion cuisine mash-ups!

Best Fusion Cuisine Mash-Up

Combine 2 or more different cuisines to create a fusion dish.

Examples:

The Ch-Ch-Ch-Chia Kraut - German Braised Head of Cabbage with Raw Food
Sprouted Chia Seeds on top

Or

The Crusader - a cocktail of sekanjabin syrup, tonic water and lime

Extra points if it includes a period dish :-)
