> A day or two ago I learned of the passing last weekend of Countess Aiden ni Leir (Helen Pinto), Eastern Countess, Lady of the Rose, Mistress of the Laurel and the Pelican, and head cook for many, many many of the feasts I attended in my earliest years in the SCA. Aiden was one of the kindest and gentlest of souls, the quickest of mind and speech, a fantastic cook, and a brilliant artisan and teacher.
