Yep. Unfortunately.

I had just decided I had some time and would start updating the Florilegium and had updated several files and added a half-dozen more. I was going to post my first monthly update in six months, when in preparation for that article I saw the site was down.

My web host is saying things like "But I was using Apache 2.2 and it is no longer supported
so the update cycle bumped me to Apache 2.4. That is
a major update, with many security fixes and features.” and "It still won't come up, and I need time to track down which error it is hitting now, and fix it, then move on to the next
one.” and the biggie: "And as I said at the start, work is super busy so I have to
squeeze it in where I have time.”

He recently became the CTO of a growing medical records Python company, so that is keeping him pretty busy.

So, I’m sorry, but I’m not sure when it will be back up. :-(

If anyone wants a particular Florilegium file, or perhaps files on a particular subject, I would be happy to send you the Word files by email attachment, until the server gets fixed.

On a personal note:
Since I’ve been unable to find enough part-time electronics engineering work, I’ve changed my kidney dialysis schedule. At first I was trying to move to home dialysis which would give me more scheduling freedom and might allow me to attend some SCA events in a motel. They want some pretty stringent cleaning of the immediate environment (for hemodialysis), so I don’t think it can be done in a tent. But they require a trained partner and I’m not sure my wife is doing well enough to do that consistently even if I stick in the needles.

So I’ve changed my treatment to MWF evenings to free up my time for, preferably, a regular employment position (with medical and other benefits) as an experienced embedded electronics design engineer. Unfortunately while I’m getting three or four calls or emails from recruiters almost every day they are all in far off places like California, Illinois, New York etc. Because of my driving problems, even jobs on the other side of Austin (25 miles away) at Intel and AMD won’t work. :-( So no possibilities just yet. One company designing electronic products for others, but they are having financial problems. And a strong nibble from OWC that makes Apple accessories, but they won’t be hiring anyone until next year. Sigh.
