Yes. The rice pudding was stuffed into sausage casings. My notes say
(with some editing): "After lunch we began making the rice pudding
'sausages'...I volunteered to peel apples for the pippen paste. Johnna
[Holloway] came in to help chop them and later Susan [Guillane] did a
few before being dragooned into doing the last few sausages since she
did them so well. The 'bursting' problem with the first set seemed to be
due to irregularities in the width of the casings."
