[Sca-cooks] Twelfth Cakes and More

Greetings! Ivan Day, noted food historian and professional chef, has a 
new blog (after a hiatus of more than a year) about some Christmas 
traditions with photos of Twelfth Cakes. He briefly mentions why some TV 
shows misrepresent certain pieces of food history even with expert 
advice. Several of the photos in the blog are of sugar paste items made 
from his original historic molds. And, there’s a photo of “plum potage” 
which has old roots. While Twelfth Cakes as pictured are Victorian, the 
blog may be of use to SCAdians.
