thanks much, this is a fascinating subject. (DH and I laughed at her (surprised?) conclusion that "period" eggs must have been smaller! seemed unsurprising to us.) 

I sure hope she finds competent folks to help her preserve her originals. As a (retired) librarian, I know they exist, but not much more. ooh, and that she has relatives currently living in areas less prone to Climate Flooding danger!
