I had to look it up,  Kate Phillips makes some of those and sells them at re-enactors markets in UK, now I wish I had bought one while I was there

I'm with my sister and her family at Colonial Williamsburg. Perhaps not the
best time to visit, but I did get a pipkin. I've been looking for one for a
bit, off and on. I plan on comparing recipes that call for its use, between
it and modern implements, to see which comes closest.
