Just found this in the archives. Might I suggest that your vegetable might be a young kohlrabi stem. Separated from the bulb and stripped of the leaves, they look similar to young asparagus.

Ok, I just received a phone call about a strange green vegetable in my wonton soup I was told it was bright green, resembled an asparagus stalk but not the texture I asked if it might have been one of those skinny green beans but she said it was solid They have been consumed so I cannot look at them Any suggestions? Thanks, Anne
