The description he gave of the functioning of the Centurions' circle is
well-stated, and goes for all polling orders in Ansteorra.

Hrm. While this is off-topic, I feel an Education Moment coming on.

While the rest of his discussion of the White Scarf was spot-on, it's worth
pointing out for historical information that the name of what was given to
Tivar Moondragon back in 1979 was "the Cavaliers of the Society for Creative
Anachronism." The name was rejected by the heralds because of the
presumptuousness of both "Cavaliers" (an alternate title for knights) and
"Society for Creative Anachronism". All subsequent members became Companions
to the "Order of the White Scarf of Ansteorra". The order was quite consciously
modelled on peerage. They claim the responsibilites of peerage but not the
privileges of peerage. They simply never claim to *be* peers by virtue of
their WSA. (Some of them are peers by virtue of membership in one or more of
the peerage orders.) Perhaps an esoteric point to some, but an important one
nonetheless.

fencer involved in the writing of the first constitution for the WSA)
