There is a nice online exhibit of "facsimiles of manuscripts
illuminated in the British Isles" here:
http://libraries. slu.edu/archives /digcoll/ mssexhibit07/ manuscripts. html
It has several images from each of the various manuscripts which gives
a very nice overview for someone new to illuminated manuscripts.
While the images themselves are all from the British Isles, the links
page here:
http://libraries. slu.edu/archives /digcoll/ mssexhibit07/ links.html
gives links to some of the best sources on the internet and includes a
variety of geographical areas.
All in all, these two links provide a great jumping off point for new
scribes and others interested in illuminated manuscripts.
