 Greetings Lete, and any others,
As you are posting on the Ansteorran Scriptoris email list, then you have not been left out of scribal conversations.   ANSTEORRAN SCRIPTORIS list is still the OFFICIAL Ansteorran method of communication for rules, announcements, contact names, etc. , for the official business of the College of Scribes for Ansteorra.
E-mail Scriptoris is just not very active in social discussions anymore, sign of the times and advances in tech, I guess.   But it still remains the Official email list and can be searched through archives back years since it was initiated.  .

Most of those discussions have now migrated over to Facebook, where in addition to chatting, we can also post photos and videos to share on scribal activities.   So here are a few links to consider for public open Facebook pages:

Facebook:
Scriptoris of Ansteorra:   https://www.facebook.com/groups/scriptoris/
A few SCA Known World lists for all Kingdoms:
SCA Scroll Gallery (show off your works): https://www.facebook.com/groups/331906713606125/SCA Scribes and Illumination:  https://www.facebook.com/groups/scascribesandillumination/SCA Scribes:  https://www.facebook.com/groups/17176888696/
And that is just a start.  Each Kingdom probably also has their own Facebook page for Scribes and Illuminators as well.

Hope that helps,
Cheers, Hillary Greenslade, old Ansteorran Scribe

I seem to have been left out of any list devoted just to scribes. We used to have one. If we still do, may I request a favor? Include me, please. I like to keep up with the developments, though I don’t go to many events any more. (Next birthday is the 80th for me.)

Oldtimers may remember me. When I played in the 1990’s, the only scribal award I didn’t get was “Mistress.” In those long ago days, any training outside of the SCA disqualified you. I am told that bias is not present any more. Good.

I had studied under international, mundane teachers, including gilding under QEII’s scribe Donald Jackson, so I wasn’t eligible. I would have loved training apprentices, but that didn’t get to happen, unfortunately. So much knowledge lost.

Even Baron Edwin and Queen Sara Penrose applauded my calligraphy and illumination talents. So sad, but I had fun when I did go to colleges and events, including the ones at Canton when we had tornadoes and floods. So many tales developed.

I would still like to see what is being said among the scribes today. If you please, let me be in the Scribes’ List. Thanks in advance.

YIS,
HL Lete Bithespring
