The August heat notwithstanding, we are not in fact living
on the surface of a star.  Futher, in period stars were some
form of little light in the sky affixed to the outermost
celestial sphere, not where anything could come from.
(Well, maybe angels might go there.)  Period names tended to
be far more concrete: "Land of the Angles" (England), "Land
of the Saxons" (Saxony), "Thor's farm" (Thorby), Foo's
valley, the red hills, ...
