ther are a great many people - many long term participants - who have valid reasons
for not being paying members ... are you saying that their opinions are any less valid
than a paid member? this kind of statement implies that money buy's you the right to
have a valid opinion in the future and that there are two claases - paying and non-
paying. last i looked the SCA did not support such a caste system ... is it any
wonder why so many turn away from the SCA these days?

the principality issue is primarily about drawing together and building a regional
identity... starting off with such arbitrary and unreasonable distinctions does nothing for
that cause .. though it seriously aids the opposition in trying to fracture the momentum
forward.

it was my understanding that while the initial conversation started here, it has since
flowed out to the non-web enabled via the normal information channels ... if the
information is not flowing as well off web as on, then i would suggest that efforts be
made to either improve the off-web information flow ... or to draw more people into the
on-web flow.

personally, i think this is more a "peoples issue" than a "nobles issue", if the nobles
you mentioned are interested they are more than welcome to join the discussions ..
but the discussion should not be limited because they choose not to join in, our don't
want to particupate in a particular venue ... seems i see a fairly large peer level online,
are they not talking to their offline brethren? i'm sure those nobles are well informed
about the discussions, the meetings, everything relevent to the issue ....

always remember ... the SCA is primarily about the *populace* as a whole ...
neophyte, peer, whatever ... it is not about any particular social or political class ...
