SR - Proactively Solving the Ballot Problem

I have a novel idea. Instead of worrying about whose fault it might or might
not be that the ballots for the Southern Region Name Vote didn't get sent in,
let's do this:
Extend the deadline on the current ballot. Contact the seneschals of the groups
that did not respond -- I figured out from the Bjornsborg webpage that Dominic
does have email, <txourtx at yahoo.com> so I'm cc:ing this note to him -- and let
them know that they have until Twelfth Night to get their groups polled and
the results back in. Then see what response is received. And people on this
list in the affected groups, you check up on it, too, with your local groups,
at as many meetings as you can manage.
That side-steps the whole process of attribution of blame. It is proactive,
and is likely to get results.
Once you get the results, I'd personally like to see a comparison of number
of ballots received vs. number of paid members in each group. That would be
a good indicator of "apathy" and how representative such a vote is likely to
be.
And for any further regional business that requires input from the regional
populace, let's announce it in the only publication that we *know* that paid
members get -- the Black Star.
