[Spit-project] Picking up my portable hearth this evening

Hurray, my new hearth is done! I am picking it up this evening and will
attempt to post pictures to Yahoo as soon as possible.

 

Crimson is also making me some hearth tools (long handled small skillet
for cooking eggs, forks, food tongs and a long handled ladle-type item)
a la the pictures in William Rubels book "The Magic of Fire". Those
aren't quite ready yet, but are promised soon.

 

I'm so excited!!!!! Although it's going to be in the high 80's this
weekend (actually cool by Sacramento summer standards) I'm going to have
to break the hearth in. I'm pretty new at open fire cooking (actually a
complete amateur :-)). Any suggestions for a first dish to try?
