Bribing those small boys to be turnspits is rather a lost art these days.
Hard enough to get them to mow the yard.

I own an electric Rotisserie for my Weber grill. I didn't pay that much 
--- end of season sale.
I don't use it that often but it makes
splendid roasted chickens and small turkeys.
