Lady Vasilisa,

The church location would be a nice location for meetings. But would
it be so much nicer that we would be willing to commit more than the
entire revenue from one of our events[1] in order to meet there for a
year?

The restaurant has its down side (mostly the noise), but it's free,
they can easily accommodate our meetings no matter how large, they
don't close early or on Federal holidays (a problem we've had with
libraries), we don't seem to have had much trouble with the room
being booked out from under us (another problem we've had with
libraries), and folks know where it is. We also don't have to
relocate to get dinner, or worry about rushing dinner before the
meeting or a late dinner afterward somewhere else.

When considering all those benefits weighed against the one main down
side (the noise)[2], the restaurant seems like a good place to me.
But that's just my view.

Kind regards,
Michael Silverhands

[1] $15/hr x 2 hrs = $30/month; $30/month x 12 months = $360/year.
This is assuming that we only "rent" the hall for 2 hrs (7-9 pm),
which is a bit on the short side. 3 hrs (6:30-9:30 pm) would be more
comfortable, but would cost $540/year.

[2] or are there other down sides that I didn't take into consideration?
