A little bit of history (we are a history organization, right?). :-)
For many a year populace meeting started at 7pm. Then sometime in the
mid-to-late 90's we noticed that the meeting was starting later and
later. Why? After the meeting everyone quickly disbursed for
restaurants and home. Therefore, if you needed to see someone about a
matter you had to do it before the meeting. So the time from 7pm-7:30pm
was set aside so that people could get check request forms, sign checks,
deliver reports, get contracts signed, talk about business matters,
etc., etc., etc. Then the meeting would start at 7:30pm. This also
accommodated those traveling further who previously had to disrupt the
meeting by coming in late.
If that first half hour is no longer serving a function, then perhaps it
could be eliminated and the meeting could start at 7pm. We just need to
be careful that moving it earlier doesn't re-introduce past problems. I
have no strong feelings about the start time; whatever works for the
functioning of the Barony.

Withdrawing in disgust is not the same as apathy.
