Palmer Episcopal has lovely facilities as well. It is newly remodeled, and on the edge of the Med Center/ Museum District. Very near Christ the King Lutheran.

I can probably get us a hall at an Episcopal Church in just about any part of town you want.  My dad is a retired Episcopal Priest.  He was a chaplain at the Port of Houston for over 30 years.  During the course of that ministry, he became acquainted, if not friendly, with most of the Episcopal clergy in the Houston area.  That's how I got permission to use the hall at Hope Episcopal for Populace meetings (if we decide to go there), and I feel fairly confident that I can get halls at other Episcopal churches the same way.  I understand that St Christopher's on Blalock has a large enough hall.  Just tell me what area you want, and I'll see what I can do.  By the way, one of the advantages of using an Episcopal church is that it will be a (discrete) wet site.  Period containers only, of course.
