So little time, so much to go to....

Part of the White Rock recreation area was host to The Scottish Society of
Dallas' version of the "National Tartan Day" today. Small, casual, fun, some
in kilts. A few merchants with excellent goodies, including plaids and
silver from Scotland, even cans of haggis (mostly beef, tho', like the
original, before the Highlands were "redistributed" for sheep herding).
Bands, dancers, singers, visiting, exchanged histories. Relaxing, indeed.

Look for the next big Scottish bash to be in Arlington. A major "do." Look
for it on June 6-8, 2003 at the Univ. of Texas at Arlington's Maverick
Stadium. If you're a Scot, you'll be recovered from Warlord; the rest of you
will just have to fake it. ;-)

Lete Bithespring (whose mundane paternal grandmother was a Renfro--Scottish
for "flowing brook," or flowing water, at least, and possibly a Lowland clan
originally from Renfroshire--6 mi. southwest of Glasgow--a village where
William Wallace hid out)
