Hmmm.  I wasn't clear in my context - the rumors were specifically 
addressing the heavy fighters who practice at Flagpole Hill, and would have 
resulted in unnecessary divisiveness if not addressed immediately.

Exactly.  And for some of us, wars are - or should be - a recreation of 
battlefield conditions, rather than recreations of the "grand melees".  As 
such, archery and siege engines are definitely important aspects of the 
game.
