It was a pleasure to serve, Borek but, alas, I am not a Lady...and there are
many that would debate lady, as well :)

Subject: [Steppes] Coronation Thank yous

Howdy all,

I would like to take a moment of you time to thank a great crew for putting
on Coronation. I have been told by many that it was a great event :)

When this started, just after Crown Tourney, I was feeling a bit cripsy from
doing so much for so long. I was asked to put my name into the kitty for
being the event steward for the event. As I was not feeling that I could
commit to such a task, but not wanting to let down my kingdom and soon to be
monarchs, reluctantly allowed my name to be on the list. (see what you get
for volunteering ;)

Since I was honored with being personally selected by TRM Miguel and Conal,
I could not decline. I knew I would need a crew I could count on to carry as
much of the load as possible and could in fact put on the event themselves
show I go running off screaming into the night.

I would like to thank Lady Chiara Francesca Arianna d'Onofrio for being
there for me as my deputy. She was my sounding board and aide throughout the
course of the event. Lady Chiara also created the King's Champion Scroll in
addition to her duties as my deputy. I personally feel that her scribal work
over these many years should have earned her an Iris of Merit and everyone
should send in their reccomendations to TRM's on her behalf.

Next I would like to thank my Feast Stewards Lady Brigit Ní Sheachnasaigh
and her Lord Finnian Tulloch MacLeod. The feast was delicious and the TRM's
were very pleased with the special repass made for head table. On top of
this, the kitchen staff was done with the cleanup well before we left for
the night which is a miracle in itself.

The HL Mary Elizabeth Wickham did a great job in receiving and keeping track
of the feast reservations as weel as running gate afterwards. I am told that
we had better that 400 members of the populace attend!

The last of my central crew was Lord Philo Alexander who handled the servers
and created the feast tokens. A marvelous job run without a hitch or problem
that I have heard of.

I chose these people because I knew I could count on them and that they
would do their jobs well whether I was there or not. Once they accept a
task, they give their best no matter the personal costs. They are all good
people, use them well for they have been and will be Event Stewards, Feast
Stewards or whatever else they might be called upon to do. I for one can
only repay them by given to them my time when they next call upon me.

I would like to thank many others I noticed during the day. Names elude me
as usual, but I will do my best.

I would like to thank Baron Daniel Stewart de Guthrie, Baron of Elfsea for
making the site tokens as well as getting approval to use the Elfsea
Pavillion for Coronation. I wish we could have taken advantage of the
latter, but the logisitics were just to formidable to over come for the
event.

I would like to thank He Fritz, HL Juliana Vertue, Lady Linnet Grey, Lord
Iames, Lady Lete Bythespring, Lord John Irwyn and I am sorry to say a couple
of others whom I cannot remember their names for their work in getting the
hall setup and the decorations hung. It was a small crew and they all worked
very hard.

I would like to thank HL Juliana Vertue for taking on the task of showing
the merchants where they could setup. A hectic task that worked itself out
well in the end :)

I would like to thank Baroness Alys Durivaux and Lord Morgan Buchanon for
getting the list field setup and finding a list mistress for King's
Champion. I had made sure the materials were at hand, but had neglected to
find a listmistress. I am in hopes Baroness Alys can let us know her name to
give her the word fame she deserves.

I would like to thank all those who took turns guarding the door to the
balcony area. There were many squires and cadets and well as the Steppes
Baronial Guard on duty through out the day there and at the exits during the
Coronation ceremony for TRM's Miguel and Conal

I will leave it to HL Brigit and HL Mary Elizabeth to thanks their
respective crews. I can only say thank you for making their tasks possible
to accomplish.

For teardown, there was much the same crew for setting up both in the hall
and in the kitchen. I remember seeing Lord Morgan Buchannon, Lord Jaques the
Spinks, Lady Ciannet Cambuel, Lord Iames, Lady Francesca Laviana Sansovino,
Lord Iain MacCrimmon, HE Fritz der Rothirsch, Duke Johnathon and his boys
Lords John and lord Richard who helped load the truck, and one very intrepid
sweeper whom I am sorry to say I did not get the name of as well as others
who helped fold roll toe and carry stuff to the truck. Thank you all. We
managed to get out of the hall before 11:30PM!

I actually managed to pick up the signs and get to bed before midnight :)

Lastly, and with heartfelt thanks, I would like to thank Lady Chiara, Lord
John Irwyn and Lady Elspeth de Forbeys for showing up at the storage unit
and being the only ones to help unload the truck and storage as well as pack
it back into what continues to be a very crowded space.

Again I am sorry that I do not know the names of all those who helped in all
the jobs that needed doing. I have done the best my poor memory will allow
and I would appreciate anyone who could word fame to those I have missed.
Thank you all for making this event possible.

Borek
