This time we were blessed that the sleet bounced off the bushes, trees, and
power lines.

In the News Years eve storm of 78-79, it was three inches of clear ice from
freezing rain.

My mother's neighborhood was without electricity four days. She alone in that
small group of houses had gas heat and a gas stove, so the neighbors gathered
at her house for much of their cooking and warmth.
