Hello!!!

I have a great ostrich feather supplier and will be happy to get the 
feathers that you need for this class.  I can order ostrich feathers in 3 
lengths (short, medium and long)  Short= 8'-10', Medium = 14'-17', Long = 
18'-21'.  In my experience, you need at least 3 medium or long for your 
base (personal preference on the length) and then 5-8 short or medium to 
fill in.  I am putting in a large feather order and would be happy to 
order your feathers for you for this fan class!  I can order feathers by 
the pound, dozen or the each....as you may well assume, ordering the 
smaller quantity increases the price per each.
I can also order peacock eyes and swords (long curved feathers with the 
color on one side) and pheasant tails.  These were lesser used in the 
royal fans, but are so dynamic and beautiful, I can't help but use them!

If you would like me to get ALL your supplies needed for this class, I can 
do that, too!  All you would need to bring is a square foot of YOUR 
fabric, a yard of trim to match and your glue gun!  Easy!!  (a word on 
trim...1/4 inch wide trim (or smaller) worked best...anything larger just 
didn't look good.  Gimp type (not ribbon) worked best)
Here are the feathers/colors I can order for you:
Short Ostrich 8-10'= White, Black, Red, Ivory, Hot Pink, Light Pink, Purple, Gold, 
Light Blue
Medium Ostrich  14-17'= White, Black, Red, Ivory, Hot Pink, Candy Pink, Light Pink, 
Fuchsia, Burgundy, Wine, Lavender
Long Ostrich  18-21'=White, Black, Red, Ivory, Hot Pink, Light Pink, Burgundy, 
Lavender, Purple,Yellow, Gold, Orange, Emerald Green
SUPER LONG Ostrich is also available, too! (too long for fans, but perfect for your lord's hat!, get 
one to match your fan!)  They are an incredible 19-22' long Plumes Colors 
= White, Black, Red, Hot Pink, Light Pink, Purple,Yellow, Gold, Orange, 
Emerald Green, Royal Blue
Peacock Eyes Short= 8-12' and Long = 32-45'
Peacock Swords 8-24'
Pheasant tails (entire tail, 2 long feathers and 10-12 shorter tail feathers included)
Prices (for any color ostrich) - Short Ostrich =$2.50 each, Medium Ostrich 
= $3.00 each, Long Ostrich = $4.00 each, Super Long Ostrich = $8.00 each
Peacock eyes Short = $0.50 each, Long $1.00 each Peacock Swords = $0.50 
each
Pheasant tails = $6.00 each (full tail) 

A full fan class kit is $2.00 and will include: handle, mirror, and felt backing - (feathers are your choice and must be ordered and paid for separately)

October 23rd.  I will place the order on Friday October 24 to ensure that 
the feathers arrive in time for class.
If you have all the necessary items, you will leave this class with a 
period feather fan that would do any Tudor proud!  These fans are 
functional and beautiful and are the perfect accessory!

The list of supplies that you need to have for the class 
1)Feathers 2)handle 3)Glue Gun (hi or low temp) 4) square foot (or scraps) 
of fabric (match your dress!) 5) yard of trim 6)mirror (optional) 7)felt 
backing (I will bring a bunch of this to class, it is a special type, 
don't worry about buying it) 8)old scissors that still cut but not sewing 
quality (you know, Those pair that always seem to show up when your good 
scissors go missing)

Working with feathers is fun and messy, quick and extremely satisfying!  I 
look forward to working with you!  Please note that my feather prices 
cover the cost of the item and shipping and the feathers are of high 
quality, these are the same feathers that the Vegas showgirls wear!  You 
do not have to use my feathers, if you have some of your own, please bring 
them!!!

I will also have documentation and pictures for you to view.

Come out for Lady Toryn's fan class. If you just want to watch you're 
welcome to come for that also.

Materials list for fan class

1.               Minimum of  7 and maximum of 12 ostrich feathers. These 
need to be 12-15 
inches long. White is a safe period color.
2.               A glue gun. See if you can find someone to share with 
you.
3.               Some sort of handle. If you can't come up with anything 
else, a wooden 
paintbrush will do.
4.               12" by 12" piece of fabric for decoration
