If you sign up for the festival then you may be doing some of what
Gerita just said.  If you volunteer, working at the Steppes booth **does
not** count as working your shift for the festival.

The first year the SCA was out there there was some confusion about
that.  If you want to help out at the demo and there are no more passes
available then volunteer for a shift so you can get in free.

Be careful signing up on that website - it's for general staff, not the
individual 'booths'.  You may find yourself serving beer in a trailer
rather than demonstrating leather carving with the SCA!

Volunteering for the festival is easy enough.  There is a form to fill
out 
online right there on the website.  I just sold my soul to them for the 
weekend...
