Was he a Sgt at the time?  And if he was, was he teaching the second block of the Avionics school?  I seem to remember having a Sgt Shaw as an instructor.

Well, you were there the same time we were. John/Alvin was teaching at the 
base in Millington. We lived on Old Millington Rd. on top of a hill.
