hi sweetie,
FYI: The Great Storm hit Galveston Island on September 8,1900. They put in
the papers that over 6000 were killed but that didn't take into account the
hundreds of black and immigrant workers. They estimated that closer to
10,000 were
lost. Check out the Galveston Historical Society.com for more information
about Galveston Island during that time. Also a History channel presentation
of
"Isaac's Storm" documents the story of that horrific day. Isaac Cline was
the
local U.S. Weather Bureau meteorologist, and a survivor of The Great Storm.

And it you go up between Bracketville and Del Reo there is a Cline, Texas.
But don't blink you will miss it. My mother was born there.
