My chief concern is that, if the minor is injured, is Children's
Protective Services going to go after the parent/guardian for allowing
the child to participate in the activity; or will they go after the SCA
group? All the waivers in the world won't protect from something like
that. As a parent of a teenaged boy, and, having had a 'contact' made by
Children's Services in another state over something much more benign, I
give a lot more thought to things like this than a lot of people might.
I would be very hesitant to allow my son to 'play with the big boys' in
a contact activity like this. 
Fortunately he hasn't shown much interest in fighting, just archery and
thrown weapons.
