[Steppes] Lindenwood Populace Meeting Minutes

The June Populace Meeting for the Canton of Lindenwood was held on June 2. 
In attendance were:

Mistress Xene
Master Philip White
Lady Aldreda the Fair, Exchequer
Lady Aimiliona, Chronicler
Lady Maria Cavasa and her Lord husband (I need his name!)
Lady Sunnifa Eiriksdottir, Seneschal

Officers' Reports:
Exchequer: Lady Aldreda gave us a May balance on our account, before 
adding back in the $200 in change we withdrew and the $231 we made at our 
Warlord Raffle, minus Masked Ball prize and hall rental expenses.

Chronicler: Lady Aimiliona is preparing another mailing notice with 
information on our next meeting and event. There was discussion of moving 
to a free online newsletter format, which was okay'd by the populace. As 
Lady Aimiliona does not know html or other such things, she will submit 
the newsletter to lindenwood_vscribe to be formatted for the web and 
posted once completed.

Seneschal: Lady Sunnifa announced that she has received one bid for the 
Office of Seneschal. The Office of Exchequer still has received no bids 
and Lady Aldreda's term of office is up. She is seeking an interrim 
extension. There is interest from others in bidding for the offices of 
Hospitaler, A&S Minister, and Knight Marshal, but no formal bids have as 
yet been received. The office of Herald is also still open for bids.

Storage Unit:
We will be giving notice and vacating our storage unit at StorageUSA in 
Irving and moving the Canton's possessions to space allotted for us in the 
Steppes locker at exceedingly reasonable rate. We hope to do this on June 
26, after our event.

Fundraisers:
We did very well at our Warlord raffle, with a proceeds of $231.

Events:
Midsummer's Masked Ball:
Lady Sunnifa Eiriksdottir has taken over as Event Steward. The event will 
be held on June 25. Lady Maria is making the site tokens. Mistress Xene is 
opening her home for a pillow workshop on June 8. HL Sagra will be holding 
a feast prep day on June 18 and asks for three sets of helping hands to 
man the grills and assist her at the actual event. Master Philip continues 
to plan the dancing and Duchess Willow is creating new wall hangings. Lady 
Maria and Lady Aimiliona will be running gate.

We are in need of judges! Duchess Willow will be helping to judge the 
story competition and HL Saqra will be helping to judge the four costume 
categories.

The next populace meeting will be Thursday, July 7. Please come in garb 
and we will be having a potluck cookout coordinated by Lady Maria at 6pm. 
The meeting itself will begin at 7:30pm. The meeting is held at the Jaycee 
Park Arts Center in Irving. The address is 2000 Airport Freeway, Irving, 
Tx, 75038.
