In response to Lyneya's private inquiry about prep days for Queen's, I
decided to post this to the lists to hopefully get additional help.
I'm going to be home, hopefully by mid afternoon on Thursday, with the first
installment of stuff to slice and dice. So anytime after about 4 works for
me. Not sure about Friday, since that entails a trip to the Dallas Farmer's
Market in the morning. I have sufficient knives and whetstones to keep people busy!
My address is 1903 White Rose Ln, Carrollton TX 75007. My phone number is
972-492-7203; my cell number is 972-369-3110.
For those coming from the eastern part of the area, your best bet is
westbound George Bush before 4:30 p.m. or after 6:30. Exit the Midway/Rosemeade exit,
go through the light at Midway and turn right onto Rosemeade. You will pass
lights at Marsh, Furneaux Creek, and Kelly before coming to a greenbelt along
a creek. The road dips a little at that point going over the bridge. When
you go back up, there will be four streets to your left. The first two are
Primrose and White Rose. If you turn in on Primrose, you can park in the back on
my driveway. If you come to the front, you'll park at the curb. Either is
fine. I'm the second house on the east side of White Rose (if you come into the
back, it is the house you can drive into the back yard...I just took down the
decrepit wood fence in back!).
For those coming from the west (Irving, mid-cities area), your best bet is
also George Bush, eastbound. Take the Old Denton exit, and head north until it
intersects with Rosemeade. Take Rosemeade east til you pass Josey Lane. My
street is the third on the right after Josey if you are going west to east.
For those coming from the south, wow, I don't know what to tell you, frankly.
Make your best guess as to which route will work best for you to Josey and
Rosemeade, or Midway and Rosemeade, and then follow the directions above. Call
if you get lost.
For those who want to help but cannot come either day/night...I will have
need of help Saturday as well, to do last-minute slicing and dicing at the event.
I plan on being there by 9 a.m. but more likely, earlier than that.
Be aware I have cats! Three to be precise, although people don't ever see
two of them. If you have allergies, please take your precautions!
