[Steppes] Fall court and other stuff :)

Greetings to the list.

First let me say that I am honored to have been selected to help lead the
barony. I have not had the opportunity to talk to Ld Jon about the transfer
of the many multitudes of things I am certain he will be more than happy to
be rid of.

Now on to the important stuff.

Minutes from the business meetings will continue to be posted (although not
right this very second by me as my notes are elsewhere and it is midnight).
They should be up by the end of the weekend. I do encourage you to all come
to business meetings if you are interested in how the Barony operates or are
interested in a particular office or just want to come and eat.

As far as the awarding of events goes, Mistress Xene has pretty much summed
it up, and rather nicely I might add. Some of you know this, some of you
are vaguely aware of this, some of you have no idea, and some of you really
don’t care. :-)

To my knowledge, which at the moment is albeit fairly sporadic until Ld Jon
and I have a chance to talk, no bids have been either submitted or accepted.
Rebbe Hadassa has graciously consented to get the ball rolling in the
discussion of where and when we might hold Fall Court. I did not witness
her discussion with His Majesty so cannot speak to that directly; however,
as many of you have already posted, she is from out-of Kingdom and new to
our area and our ways of doing things.

I am not saying that should she decide to put in an official bid that it
will be accepted, nor am I saying that it will be declined. But, she has
started the all-important process of discussing the event.

This sounds a great deal like what almost all of have already posted. So
let’s get back to the main reason for bringing up the discussion in the
first place – when, where, what, etc.

Let the discussions continue as they seem to have already produced a
nearly-free site (no mean feat, that!!), a potential date, as well as some
fabulous ideas regarding fighting, archery, etc, etc, etc.

If you would like to put in a bid for this event, please use, or not, the
ideas you like. As they say the more, the merrier. AND should your bid not
be the one chosen, volunteer to help the one who was selected – they won’t
turn down your offer of help!

Should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email, call, post a
letter, whatever. Just don’t call at midnight - usually I’m in bed before
now (my insanity only runs so deep). :-)

Officially announced as next, but not there yet, Steppes Seneschal
