Heilsa,

Brown of earth where there was colors of
Green, Blue, Reds, Oranges, and Yellows
The Blue and Paintbrush stood proud
Time arrived for Blades
Which bit and chewed - low and short
Such are gone - waiting another year
Another Blade within 16 Days will appear

Nine days until the Queen steps up
To Rule the months of Summer
A taste of perhaps what to come
It is best Hot while on the side
  Resides a sauce Called Humidity
Served as well to one and all
Though a brisk breeze
Provided cooling under the shade
Still felt triple numbers
Add in metal of armor and helms
A Hot time was had for all

Seem the breeze brought
News as well from travelers
News of the List held
Day before
An interesting story
Of Brotherhood emerging
Within that of Knighthood
Perhaps another meaning of such
Seems something similar
Related to a movie
Though not of Period
But of Traveling Pants
As Knights sought such
The story - now that would
Be telling and
Not all is known
Look to Strawberries relaxing
Within Light of Sun
To Know, if one must

Future Events -

There is a possible War practice prior to
Gothic Wars in August - still in planning stage
at this time.

Gothic Wars:
Labor Day Weekend
September 2nd through 4th
Sweetwater, Texas

Please start drinking extra water several days prior to the day of practice.
This is also true of going to an event, be it SCA related or not.
You will have a better time and enjoy yourself more
if you are hydrate before you start your activity.
Energy drinks may give you a lift, but will not carry you as far,
  when compared to water and gatorade.

Remember - Pace yourself!

Please bring at least 1 gallon or more of water and gatorade. I
recommend 2 gallons of fluids and snacks to replenish your
energy levels if you are in armor and fighting.
Suggested of items you might wish to bring out:
- cold pickles
- oranges - energy bars - etc...
- Bring Chairs for you to sit upon.
- Sunscreen
- Hats
- Sun pavilions can be set up

Practice with combat arrows at various distance
against standard target - Lord Michael.

Lord Eirikr requested training with combat
arrows from Lord Michael's 30 lb., recurve.
This is Lord Eirikr first time actually shooting combat arrows.
Another heavy fighter introduced to combat arrows and
putting them down range and on target.
