You are welcome. Good possiblitiies but I would prefer to have my arcarius work with you on the scenario by way of experience in combat marshalling with me as a backup consultant if you would not mind. I would, however, be happy to discuss the scenario with you both. As someone else did say Wil Ironwyrm had a Viking village raid theme a few years ago that was most enjoyed and you might wish to consult him as well. Let me know when things are more firmed up and I will be happy to arrange a meeting.

    Jacque,

  Thank you!!!
We have been offered a site already by Master Petruccio(sp?) on his land which has over 20 acres and is well suited for camping and all forms of fighting as well as archery and equestrian, at minimal cost to the Barony ( gas to mow the pasture and our renting porta privies) I have a specific scenario in mind for the fighting...but as I have no experience with combat archery scenarios I would greatly appreciate your assistance in working the combat archery into this one. The sceneario I have in mind is melee style ressurection battle with a twist...Francesca actually heard me discussing the style of what I am looking at if she remembers. I would also love to be able to work the equestrians into the same scenario, but I am unsure of how that would work out...I will have to speak to Elizabetta on that. (the scenario actually involves at this time teams with heavy and rapier fighters on both sides which are chosen at random)

I also have plans in the works for several competitions off the fields, such as hand kissing, grovelling, a camel stealing competition, cooking competitions, the aforementioned mini artisan and an asassins game, plus an evening Youth Revel/ Bardic circle as well as an Adult Bardic.

This also gives us the oppourtunity to get the kids involved in volunteering as water bearers, pages etc. by giving them tokens or tickets for a volunteers raffle thereby making them feel useful at events.

The suggestion of a Sunday event was with my not knowing that this is generally an overnite event. As my "weekend" is tuesday and wednesday...I sometimes forget the Monday work week:)

As to Sunday- I would be reluctant to do a Sunday. I usually use that for R&R in preparation for the week to come and to get laundry done etc. I personally prefer a Saturday myself with camping option but others may feel differently. I do not drink much but Saturday also deals with that issue.

You might check with Lady Francesca de Sansovino- she researched a number of sites for Artisan and Lady Katherine did a lot of work in checking sites for Warlord. Either may have some ideas.

I am sure you have a lot of suggestions and ideas already but I would request that you might also consider archery or combat archery for part of the event and consider it in your site evaluations. Equestrian may also wish to be considered. Both tend to be space intensive which may mean that those events not be might not be part of the fall court- but that is something you have yet to get to. Just a thought in passing since site is a major consideration for either. You mention fighting and A&S so I know that is being considered already. Would the fighting that you envision be tourney or combat type?

I will be interested to see what others have to say. Thanks for the opportunity to chime in so early in the process.

Greetings to all,

I was speaking with His Majesty last night after the business meeting and I
have volunteered to take on the task of Stewarding Fall Court this year.
This will be a day of Fighting , Fun , Food and Contests for all...but ineed
a couple of questions answered by someone...and a bit of help.
The question are:
1) My understanding is that this does not go on Kingdom Calander..is this
correct?
2) If this is correct, are there any strong objections to doing this on a
Sunday so as not to conflict with other events?

OK now the help I am requesting is simple...since I am still learning the
Dallas area...I need suggestions for sites that won't cost the Barony an arm
and a leg for usage. The big requirements are as follows....a very large
area for fighting as I have a rather special fighting event planned...and I
would like to see this as a wet site if possible...although I would prefer
that drinking be kept lite so as not to impair people on their drive home
after the event, but it would be fun to be able to do a mini artisan ( to be
judged by the populace) where brewed items are allowed
