Last Sunday of July
Saw number of good Gentles
Gathering - all parts of the Kingdom
We call home - Ansteorra
Day started as Standard
Hot with humidity increasing
Sun battling with Clouds of Gray
A promise of Rain - which has become the Normal
Despite tradition of the Queen of Summer
Rule of being Hot with a South wind
Day being felt as
Measured by Glass of Red - 91F
Perhaps this Queen's attention focus
In Kingdoms further West
Hands of Time moving toward Two
Cooling Northwest - while to East
Hugh Rolling Clouds of Gray Moving
Sun losing the Battle again this Day
Retreating - leaving the field - and so...
Slow Start - A drop here, drop there
Gathering in full sheet of light falling
Plan - move to stands of misshapen trees
Erected prior for shelter from the Elements
Good City of Carrollton supplying the labor
There the contests of skill
Shown by Blades of Light and Heavy
Continue for the Gathering
A excellent Day for both Heavy and Light

Do hope all who made the extra effort to come to this practice
made it home.

Please start drinking extra water several days prior to the day
of practice.
This is also true of going to an event, be it SCA related or not.
You will have a better time and enjoy yourself more
if you are hydrate before you start your activity.

Energy drinks may give you a lift, but will not carry you as far,
when compared to water and gatorade.

A number things to remind the reader about:
I am a novice when it comes to recognizing the different
types of blades employed upon the field of Rapier. So, if
I was not sure of the type - I describe it as a heavy blade.

I do not Win or lose to any of the individual contests of
Skill this day. Why not record this?
First - this is a practice.
Second - it would mean interrupting the practice and that is
not worth it.

Each contest can and most usually do
have a number separate combats with the same opponents.
