[Steppes] Something totally different period vs modern food.

And, see, that's something that really bothers me.
Especially for something like Lysts where they are going
all out to have a Medieval Event.

They do all of this work to have things as period as possible
so they can show off for everyone how they do it right and then
blow it with an obviously mundane and modern meal. Why put
up banners and wear the proper garb and have a period lyst
with horses and challenges, make sure period tents and pavillions
are in evidence and then serve Big Macs and Fried Chicken?

When done correctly, period or even "peri-oid" food is very good,
just as easy to prepare and continues the theme. There are a couple
of period food experts in Bryn Gwlad, just look at Mistress Gwyneth's
amazing feast at Candlemas as an example of doing it right.

Now, lest anyone think I'm a total period fanatic, I've offered to help
with the Royal's and Judges' evening dinner and it is quite mundane.
But it's something I came up with off the top of my head and have
the time and materials for. Yes, I'd rather do something good and period
but it will be a small private dinner and not part of the overall event.
