Greetings! I am looking for people who are willing to teach a class at
this year's Steppes Artisan, being held on July 28, 2007. This year
Steppes is hosting a collegium alongside our Artisan competition.
We are looking for enthusiastic teachers of all skill levels. It
doesn't matter if this is your first class or you lost track of the
number years ago. It doesn't matter if you have been practicing your
skill for 6 months or for 6 years (or more). There is a good chance
that someone in this kingdom knows less about it than you do and would
love for you to show them.
Classes will run from 9am to 4pm with a 1 hour break for lunch. There
are 30 one-hour class blocks available, of which 23 are still
available. We are looking for a wide variety of class topics. Brewing
classes are welcome, but due to site restrictions they will need to be
theory only (no alcohol tasting).
If you are interested in teaching a class, please contact me at
elinor.salter at gmail.com with the following information:
Class Name
Description (a short blurb on what your class is about)
Class Length (1 hr blocks, can be shorter/longer)
Class Attendance Limit (if none, state as such)
Class fee or suggested donation?
Do students need to bring any materials?
Preferred time slot (morning or afternoon)
Do you have any special room requirements (large table, etc)?
Your SCA name
Contact email address
If you have already spoken with the autocrat Rebbe Hadassah about a
class, please contact me as well to confirm the above information. I
have only had 2 people out of 6 confirm their class information so far,
even though I have emailed you all. If you no longer wish to teach a
class, please let me know as soon as possible so I can release your
block to someone else.
Class schedules and information will be added to the Artisan website
later this month. Other offerings at this event will include a youth
corner, period gaming table, merchants and included sideboard lunch
(with a potluck dessert table - bring something to share if you're able).
