Heilsa,

Sunday marked the End
Or was it the Beginning
Seating gather overhead -
Who perhaps gazed down? - was the question
Not one of All who gathered would ask
Bright at first, then Slate-like was the order
Back again, so that none upon the field
Could say which became which
Order was left on High
Wind - Strong and Cooling
Summer Rule by its King
Granted for the one and all
Allowing Temperature not to become
Active player - kept to 90 F
So that everyone gather
To Witness many who
Fight for the joy of it
Why, one would ask
 - Because they can
Swings stretching to cover more
Advancing forward with sure steps
Drops seems to retreat before armor and rattan
A fight - calls the Wind to One and All
Air at times sharp with cold - whim of Seasons
Other times heated
Changing of the Moon
Paints the Sky of Night with Silver
Path on toward Morning - Day
Yet not of Full Moon to be set free
Before the appointed Time
Other half at times wish to Guard
One away from the Rush
To deny that Oh, so sweet feeling!
Would indeed be a Crime
For only One sets forth and the Other
Does Not - Seeing from a Far
And at Night - be it with Full of Moon
Or Not
The colours does not match
More of Dark to that of Red within
Purple perhaps and all that goes
Flesh does mark, though not seen by all
Upon a square, regardless of size
For there can be only One upon that square
And One is alone
Waiting for another
And so the Fight is joined
Time swift afoot - waits for none
All withdrew - away
Perhaps another Day -
Another One will come forth

Looking for a someone who builds armor
then check out:
Patrick's web site is:
Thadenarmory.com

The shop is located in Denton, just north of Dallas.

Ashcraftbaker.com is another on site, but out of State.

If you are a member of the SCA, meaning that you have a
current "Blue Card" then you must present it at each practice
prior to taking the field and not have to sign the waiver.

On the other hand, if you do NOT have a "Blue Card", then you must
signed the waiver.

Please start drinking extra water several days prior to the day
of practice.

This is also true of going to an event, be it SCA related or not.
You will have a better time and enjoy yourself more
if you are hydrate before you start your activity.

Energy drinks may give you a lift, but will not carry you as far,
when compared to water and gatorade.

Remember - Pace yourself!

Everyone needs to bring water to the park. I would recommend
the following:

Please bring at least 1 gallon or more of water and gatorade
to replenish your energy levels if you are in armor and fighting.
Suggested of items you might wish to bring out:
- cold pickles
- oranges - energy bars - etc...
- Bring Chairs for you to sit upon.
- Sunscreen, a bright sun with some wind and...
- Hats
- etc...

Training involves separate levels of heavy fighting -
Basic level to "Good"
Man-At-Arms
and/or Squire entry level
Centurion level
