[Steppes] "White Elephant" gift exchange (was: Populace Potluck Update)

I seem to remember some white elephant gifts from years past
that were outstanding examples of uselessness.
An outrageously gaudy peacock cod piece unwrapped or stolen
by Fritz much to Catrin's amusement! A pink & black Art Deco
fringed lamp shade, ugliest thing you had ever seen, it looked
like a prop from an Invasion of the Pod People "B" movie! And
of course my personal favorite, a medieval style hood made
from a florescent hot pink, yellow & chartreuse fleece material
that you wouldn't be caught dead wearing! It just kept coming
back to the white elephant and being re-gifted year after year!
Used to be the more ridiculous & useless the gift was the better,
but it was always nice to drop something useful into the exchange
that everyone would want just to kick the theft off. As far naughty
goes I'd try to avoid being too suggestive with the kids around.
There's plenty of laughs to be had by just being a little imaginative
in your gift choosing!
So good luck & happy hunting!

I prefer the former, myself, but part of the entertainment value of such events
is the mix of the former and the latter.
HOWEVER, "naughty" gifts would not be appropriate to bring to this
family-friendly gift exchange. Not only are children usually present,
they have been known to be participants in the gift exchange.
