I wanted to commend all of the local artisans who came and represented the
home turf by competing in Steppes Artisan.

Alexandra Notte-Claire: Alexandra braved the intimidating image of what
Steppes Artisan puffs itself up to be, and showed some lovely stained glass
pieces. The tudor rose, which was her centerpiece, was great! baroness
genevieve is learning to do stained glass, and was most excited to get to
talk shop with Alexandra.

Ekaterina Iadorovna Kharlampieva: We all know Katya shines. Her display this
year was fabulous. It included examples of her inkle weaving, card weaving,
kumihimo, lucet cord making, basketry, temari balls, spinning, embroidery,
and she had a recorder and music out to show off her passion for
instrumental music.

Maeve Dionotto: Maeve is a treasure of our barony. She had on display many
wonderful pieces of painted glass, drawings, clothing, blackwork, and fans
that are getting her quite the attention in Hollywood.

Magge MacPherson: No one who was at Steppes Artisan could stay away from
Magge's display. It was an impressive body of work that showed off her many
talents. These include embroidery, clothing, singing, calligraphy and
illumination, poetry, blackwork, haberdashery,,,,

Ryan McNeill: We were seriously impressed with Ryan's display. He had
constructed a medieval box, sewn a tabard with the badge of his teacher, and
composed a poem. His diversity served to highlight that he is a young man of
many talents with an attention to detail and a sharp creative mind.

Vivianna Rowntree: Lady Vivianna's many talents were well represented in her
display. We saw examples of her inkle weaving, casting, painting, and
illumination. The book of hours style illumination she did for HE Katheryn's
court barony scroll was the subject of much attention.

The arts are alive in the Steppes. Thank you to each of you for representing
our barony so well.

Baron Duncan and Baroness Genevieve
