As Regional Treasurer, I have always tried to stay in contact with my
officers to #1. Just let them know I'm still breathing. #2. Let them
know what events I would be attending. #3. When and where I would be
teaching a class. #4. Pass on info from Kingdom, and lastly, just a note
to remind them of this or that, let them know I was available for any
problems they might encounter on a report. It's a habit I got into, and
it's not a lot of trouble.

As for training, Kingdom Treasurer has asked the regionals to teach a
class every quarter. For my 11 officers in the Central, that's 4 times a
year minimum that they can have a class, plus they can come to me at any
event. A lot of it gets taken care of via email. Then too, I made it a
point to meet every one of them, so I'm not an anonymous voice from the
West. They matter to me as individuals and as my officers, and if they
are confused about deadlines, or what goes where on reports etc., it is
my duty to instruct them so that they have the chance to do their job.
Local officers have the most put on them, from all angles, and are the
start of the chain of reporting, but they have to know what they're
doing in order to do it!

Regional officers are not for decorative purposes; we are responsible
FOR our local officers and responsible TO our greater officers. Yes it
is work, but it's necessary. The 'game' for all would not be possible
without the work of few.

Want to see a vital, healthy kingdom at work? Attend the Red Tape event
in March! It's for ALL officers.

In service,

HLy Eleanor de Broke
Central Regional Treasurer
