Bob Charron (Duke Conn, KSCA) will be holding an all-day seminar on Fiori
dei Liberi's "Floss Duellatorum" at the Optimist Gym in Denton TX, on
Saturday, July 14.
The 'Flos Duellatorum, or 'Flower of Battle' is an Italian manual from
1410 primarily composed of illustrations with short rhyming captions
detailing techniques of wrestling, dagger, sword, spear, two handed sword,
armored combat, pollaxe, and mounted combat.
A copy of the 1410 manual (and many many other period combat manuals) can
be found in the Knowledge Base section of the Academy of European Medieval
Martial Arts (AEMMA):

More information on this weekend's seminar are in the announcements at

And some more information on dei Liberi is at the St. Martin's Academy
site:

If you're interested in historical combat techniques, this is a great
opportunity for a one-day introduction geared towards students at all
levels of fighting experience. I attended the dei Liberi workshop at the
Livermore Symposium/Pas d'Armes earlier this past May, and give Bob
Charron and dei Liberi a big two thumbs up and highest recommendations.
This weekend's seminar has been planned and organized by Russell Mitchell,
who can be reached at russnanna at yahoo.com (big cheers for Russell!)
This is gonna be way cool. See you there!
