Unto the fair people of the Kingdom of Ansteorra
Come greetings from Master Michael Silverhands:

It is my happy duty to inform you that Their Stellar Majesties, Jason and
Saereid, have appointed your new Kingdom Chronicler. They consulted with the
applicants, Mistress Honor of Restormel (Society Chronicler), Master Richard
Fairbourn (Kingdom Seneschal), and myself (interim Kingdom Chronicler), and
determined that Lord Stefan von Drachenfels would assume the office.

Lord Stefan has been publishing the Black Star for the past couple of months.
You should be familiar with the quality of his work by now. Under the heading
"turnabout is fair play", I will be assisting him with the administrative duties
of his office.

Many thanks to everyone else who applied! For the first time in many, many years
the Crown actually had a choice among several qualified applicants, instead of
having to quietly twist arms to fill the office. Even though you were not
selected this time, you have done your Kingdom proud in the eyes of the Society.

Please direct all future correspondence regarding the Black Star or the office
of Kingdom Chronicler to:

Steven Holt (Lord Stefan von Drachenfels)
5322 Randon Rd
Houston, TX 77091
(713) 956-2701
drachenfels at ev1.net
-or-
chronicler at ansteorra.org
(it is not necessary to write to both email addresses)

If you have already sent your report, event announcement, or whatever to me,
don't worry. I have forwarded everything to Stefan, and will continue to do so
as I continue to receive stuff (as I assume I will for a while).

Applications are now closed for the positions of Northern and Coastal regional
chroniclers. We will be announcing these appointments as soon as possible.
Thanks to everyone who applied for these posts, and who has waited with patience
while we settled the Kingdom office.

My heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported me during the past few months of
transition in this office. I could not have managed without you, whether it was
manual labor or just a kind word when I needed to hear one. I am still humbled
by the honor you have all showed me by your trust and encouragement.

Finally, my sincere thanks to Baroness Sigen who revived the silent auctions to
benefit the Black Star, in memory of Master William Blackfox who used to do
these when he walked among us. The Black Star is in better health than it has
been in for a long time, and this is due in large part to the generosity and
grace of this Kingdom, unsurpassed in the Known World.

Yours in service,
Michael
