Greetings and Welcome,

We will be dancing this weekend at Steppes Artisan as time and space
permits. Current plans are from Noon - 2 pm.

Please remember that the focus of the event is the Artisan competition, with
the addition of the rapier and archery competitions. Our space and timing
must be flexible, so please be patient with circumstances. We should have
available a space of floor closer to the kitchen that will give us enough
room to dance. I will be on site early to set up an A&S display, and then I
will be at your disposal to answer questions about dance (basically - once I
am in garb).

Considering this, I ask you to think of dancing not as at a formal ball, but
more as a regional practice. Anyone with an interest in period dance,
regardless of talent or skill, is welcome to join and participate!
Currently, I am planning on working on 15th Century Italian Dances. Some of
these will be very familiar to you, others will be great new fun. Look to
the Ansteorran dance website to refresh your memory
(http://dance.ansteorra.org/).

A tentative list includes: Petit Vriens, Amoroso, Anello, Gelosia,
Rostiboli Gioioso, Voltati in Ça Rosina, Vita di Cholino, Leonchello, and
Belriguardo.

See Artisan website for more event details
(http://www.steppes.org/artisan/index.html).

Please feel free to contact me directly for further information.

Your servant to command,
   Philip White
