Ansteorra, I for one have been confused about what Volunteers are needed to
do at Gulf Wars, so I asked the department heads to let us know. Following
are their responses. If you have any questions, you can contact them
directly, or me.
See you at the War! Hillary, Ansteorran Volunteers

Waterbearing rules for Gulf Wars:
You must be 18 or older, with a signed membership card (or sign a waiver at
the point) to be on the field with fighters.
17-13, they must have a parent or guardian sign them up (same waiver rules
apply) and pick them up when done (they can work the perimeters of the
field, work at waterbearing point, etc.)
12 and under - they must have a parent or guardian sign them up AND said
parent or guardian MUST serve with them. (Same waiver rules apply for both)
and again, they can only work the perimeters, WB point, etc.)
These are the standard rule for Meridies. I have not made it any different
for Gulf Wars. So basically, everyone is welcome as long as the proprieties
are met.

Kennel Land volunteers: Volunteers responsibilities will include grooming,
watering and cleaning up dog excrement. Possibly helping feed the
greyhounds depending on owners preference. Benefits are getting your
"doggie fix" at the war. We could use 2 or 3 volunteers each day. Hours
are flexible. Walking the greyhounds does not qualify for volunteer
points.

Kennel Lands would be willing to accept Teen volunteers. However, they must
be at least 12, responsible and of quiet demeanor. I would ask that they
ask for me, Rebecca with the Greyhound, so that I could explain their
duties. It would involve picking up dog excrement, possibly helping feeding
(depending on owner's preference), grooming and otherwise general care. It
would NOT involve walking the dogs. We have a standing rule that anyone
under 18 must be accompanied by an adult if they are walking the
greyhounds.
