Greetings All,

Well, another Gulf War is in the books and I truly hope that everyone had a
great time. There were many things that worked very well this year:
*	Better land than last year
*	Really cool gate
And there were a few things that need improvement for next year
*	Scheduling issues
*	Lengthy speeches and lectures by GW staff members (the fighters and
equestrians certainly know what I'm talking about)

All in all, though I do believe that things worked well and went smoothly.
Well, as smoothly as they can go when you get 4,500 crazy people together
for a week long campout all dressed up in weird clothes, hitting each other
with sticks and jabbing each other with metal things.

As Gulf War moves forward we Ansteorran need to continue to take a more
active role in its management. There are numerous staff positions such as
Publications, Gate Guard (or Troll as they say in Meridies), Volunteer
Point, Chiurgeon and many others. Joining the Gulf War staff is one of the
best ways to ensure that Ansteorran interests are represented and protected
when it comes to what happens at the war. I know that many people are under
the impression that Meridies jealously guards these staff positions and
doesn't want to give them up, but that is a false impression. In fact, the
Meridians are asking for more people from Ansteorra and Trimaris to join the
staff. I know that some folk are now considering applying to the staff for
such positions as Gate and Parking and I encourage you all to think about
working a year or two on staff. Believe it or not, it's actually fun. (It's
worth it for the golf cart alone!) I also want to commend HL Dolfin of Cork,
of Stargate and Ravensfort, who ran security this year. Well done, Dolfin!

I know that my replacement as your liaison, HE Sir Godwin, has a lot of
excellent ideas about how to improve Ansteorra's war experience. Among other
things, Godwin intends to have a professional survey made of all of
Ansteorra's land (to include trees). This will make planning camping space
more accurate and help ensure that everyone gets more land. I also know that
Godwin will need a good staff to do his job and for as many people as
possible to pre-register in order to get more land so we're not all cramped.
So please don't be shy about answering when Godwin calls for help. I can
assure you that he'll be working hard for all of us.

Finally, I want to thank a few people for helping so much over the last
three years: to HL Duncan MacConnocher, HL Arabella de Montecute, HL
Raimond, Sir Alexis la Bouche, Mistress Ariella d'Aille, Lord Alfred
Huddlestone, Lady Honour, Baron Michel, Sir Galen Kirchenbauer for their
work in land, GW set up and A&S. To Master Fritz der Roth Hirsch for his
remarkable genius in the design of the gate and his Herculean efforts in
making it happen. And of course to my lady wife, Mistress Jehanne d'Avignon
for putting up with me while I did the job.

It was my great pleasure to serve you as your liaison to our great Gulf War,
and now I leave you good hands. Godwin, it's all yours!

Sincerely,
Sir Pendaran Glamorgan,
Ansteorran Liaison to GW X, XI, XII
(Retired)
