Greetings Ansteorra!
Let me preface this with the following: I swear to you, Ansteorra, they
sought me out. I did not go looking for their services. But they insisted
on helping, and they badgered and bothered and cajoled me into submission.
I had to give in; everyone, even a citizen of the Sable Star, has a breaking
point. Yes, I know that will cost me my Ansteorran Heroes Union Local #1
membership card, but I feel I must be honest with you . I was pestered into
saying yes. And now, because of my own weakness, they're going to come
after you too. But it's OK, you can pay them to go bug someone else, and
they'll do it. And come July, we'll all get to watch their efforts blow up
in their faces. And in everyone else's, too, for that matter.
(Some of you are thinking to yourselves, "What is he babbling on about this
time?" and the rest of you are saying "Oh NOOOO ." because you know what's
about to happen.)
That's right, Ansteorra. The Pesterers' Guild is coming to Steppes Warlord.
The Pesterers' Guild has one single purpose, that being to follow you around
until you either (a) pay them to leave you alone or (b) pay them to go
pester someone else. Either way, they're all about money. However, they're
not all bad, as they are dedicated to the raising of funds for various
activities throughout Ansteorra. At Steppes Warlord, they will be raising
funds for the fireworks display at Argent Anniversary.
Now, they do have ethics and morals. (They showed them to me, they store
them in a box to keep them clean.) For example, if you're, say, the King,
they're respectful enough to not pester You unless You have given them
permission to do so. And if you're entered in the Warlord tournament, they
have the decency to delay their pestering until you're out of the
tournament. (As if winning Steppes Warlord wasn't incentive enough on its
own, the longer you stay in, the longer you avoid the Pesterers. See, it's
GOOD to be the Warlord!) They've promised not to interrupt the classes
either, so here's a cheap plug on behalf of the teachers - as long as you're
in a class, you won't be pestered. And they aren't going to begin providing
their services to the Kingdom until they are introduced in morning court on
Saturday, so you're safe all day Friday.
There is a way of heading them off, so to speak, and the secret lies in the
timeless proverb: If you can't beat 'em, join 'em!
The Pesterers' Guild has asked me to tell you (OK, they kept calling and
calling until I said I'd tell you) that they are accepting new memberships
in the Pesterers' Guild at this time! If you are interested in joining this
most noble and august (?) guild, please contact the master Pesterer,
Criestian Bjornson at kim_kopec at yahoo.com to apply. (Rumor has it that
membership in the Guild will keep you from being pestered yourself, but
don't quote me on that, I only started that rumor just now. I mean, heard
it off a shady character in an alley somewhere. Oh, just write Criestian to
be sure.)
If you have any questions about the Pesterers' Guild's activities at
Warlord, please feel free to contact either Criestian, or me at
snorri at houston.rr.com.
They made me do it,
HL Snorri Hallsson
