Keep in mind you may have trouble pulling the zip map up.  Currently the bandwidth is limited and the number of simultaneous users is also limited.  So keep trying back.

To toggle between the Legend and LayerLists, click on the icon to the upper left above the Microscope with a + in it.

Experiment.  Try all the buttons.  

In terms of layers.  I always make the kingzips layer active.  This will allow you to use the i (identify) button.  To see the actual zip codes, keep zooming in until they appear.
