Their Excellencies William and Narkissa, Baron and Baroness of Loch
Soilleir, invite one and all to a festival of happiness and joy in
celebration of the coming of summer!
May 20 - 22, 2005
Baronial Champions will be selected in the fields of Archery, Bardcraft,
Chivalric Combat, and Equestrian Skills.
Archery: Test your skill with the bow so that a new champion may be
selected. The tournament begins at 10 am, or after morning court.
Bardcraft: Each entrant will perform two pieces of his or her choice.
Documentation is not required, but is always nice. Please send a brief
letter of intent to Lord Kovac Myklos, titled Bard of Loch Soilleir, at
heykovac at hotmail.com, with a copy to Their Excellencies William and
Narkissa. Bards who are unable to send a letter ahead of time may bring a
brief letter with them, and present it prior to the competition. The
competition begins at 1:00 pm.
Chivalric: A list will be held for warriors to vie to become the new
chivalric champion of Loch Soilleir. This will be followed by a Champions
battle where each barony, shire or canton is invited to send forth their
current chivalric champion to vie for the title of Best of the Best. Those
participating in the champions' battle are encouraged to bring retinue to
show their support upon the field. Perhaps a little ransom would also be in
order should fate turn against you... For those desiring more information
please contact Sir Alexis LaBouche, Chivalric Champion of Loch Soilleir,
drwise at houston.rr.com. To provide a bit of incentive a pair of high carbon
steel gauntlets will go to the victor of the champions' battle. Armor
inspection for both lists begins at 10 am.
Equestrian: A challenging course will be presented to test your equestrian
skills, and to select a new champion. Please bring proof of negative
Coggins. The tournament begins at 11 am.
Rapier: We will not be selecting a new rapier champion until December, but
that's no excuse to let your gear collect dust! Come out for the Rapier
Torchlight Tourney sponsored by Don Allessandro and Don Tristan, which will
be held after feast!
Other Activities: The day's activities will also include Morris Dancing, a
Static A&S Display, and Youth Boffer.
Feast: The evening's feast will consist of Mediterranean Delights featuring
Italian, Greek, Spanish, and Middle Eastern fare, skillfully prepared by
Lord Vaclav Namatko and Lady Vasilisa of Stargate.
Why drive home on Saturday night when you can stay for even more fun? The
camp that is deemed the finest by Their Excellencies will receive largess,
to assist them in their evening's hospitality!
Site Fee: $10; $5 age 5 - 12; No charge under 5 years; $30 Family Max
Feast Fee: $8; $4 age 5 - 12; No charge under 5 years
